The first album of Keiko Omata, “The Secret garden “, which is the fruit of classical music, jazz, bossa nova, and faith in Jesus, has just been released by Niteroi Discos. Since this CD must be categorized in Jazz / Bossa nova music, it can give a brand new feeling to a gospel listener. This new sound can be more accessible to an audience that isn’t religious and make the world unified with the sound quality.

 

These songs were selected very carefully so that the ten tracks will never make you bored. There are five tracks recorded in English, four tracks in Portuguese, and one instrumental track (“Sentimento” written by Eduardo Farias). Except “Sentimento” and “Tu es fiel, Senhor”, all songs were written by Keiko Omata. Keiko’s embraceable voice will touch your soul with lyrics that tell the importance of loving others. 

 

Eduardo Farias, number one Brazilian jazz pianist, producer, and arranger of this CD (he also plays the flute, tenor sax, accordion, etc. in this CD) is also the pianist of Leo Gandelman’s quintet, which is among the most famous jazz groups in Brazil. Eduardo was a touring member of Frank Gambale, Grammy winning guitarist. The overcoming piano technic, lyrical arrange, authentic Brazilian rhythm, and composition influenced by classical music are put together in one harmony of this CD.
